The Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) is the oldest and largest organization of Italian American men and women in the United States. Founded in 1905 by Dr.Vincenzo Sellaro, this fraternal organization was created to help assimilate Italian immigrants into American society. Since then, OSIA has been involved in promoting immigration legislation; assisting in the assimilation process; supporting cooperation, trade, and diplomatic relations between the United States and Italy; initiating social and fraternal events; encouraging educational achievement through scholarships; and serving local communities through a variety of cultural events and raising funds for local charities.
Our lodge, Buona Fortuna, meaning Good Fortune, was founded in Pensacola, Florida, November 2006 by Bill Zuppa, Gene Valentino, and Rita Somma. Since our establishment, we have been dedicated to upholding the values of our Grand Lodge, while promoting fraternity in our lodge as well as in our community. If you are of Italian descent, live in the Gulf Coast area, and are interested in joining an organization that immerses you in Italian culture, gives back to its community, and helps those in need, while being around others who share your passion for their Italian heritage, please attend one of our meetings. Information can be found on the Meetings page. Please feel free to look around our site. If you have any further questions, please contact us at webmaster@soibuonafortuna.com.
